Consumers have been disappointed with Big TV's customer service, claiming to be ineffecient and lack of assistance from the distributor or the call center. So I guess the company has taken note of it and set up new support in after-sales service.

According to Reliance, its after-sales team comprising 10,000 trained installation personnel and demonstrators along with customer service are equipped to install 50,000 connections daily.

Just within 15 days after their big launch and several consumers have already expressed their disappointment with Big TV customer service. Reliance stated that their call centre was capable of handling over 50,000 calls per day, and would operate from two locations to enable speedy response to consumer queries. But it seems the customer service is not that efficient.

Many complains have been registered about Big TV's after sale service and consumers have received no assistance from the distributor or the call center. Are these genuine complains or just Big Tv's competitor posting negative comments on different sites?

Riduculous service....and the lack of it...they have taken my money and not activated my account. Noone ever answers the customer care line after being put through the whole automated process...I have been kept on hold for the past twenty minutes on several occasions till I gave up and put the phone down...pathetic...BIG TV are BIG cheaters...a real shame!

ya..customer care is poor.im a Big tv user and my time to recharge is come and gone.im trying to get a recharge coupon from relience world.they gave different answers at different times including they even stop recharge via cash card and local retailers didnt had card at all.....where the hell do i get card...i previously used another servise they are far better....this is ridiculous...i had no tv now..bigtv needs to do better servise.i agree on picture quality and sound.they are top class.but servise not upto the mark.and customer care not top quality.

I had recharged through IVR, my recharge amount gone to some other account of reliance. Now no one is taking that responsibility to solve this issue. Its their IVR BUG. Amount was 3400/-

Guys Please don't go for BIG TV, they are second government.
After service more important.... I hope Reliance doesn't understand this.

Every time I have called the toll free number I hear stories such as the following
a. My system is slow I can not give any information now. Call back after 5 minutes
b. We are facing a technical problem
c. Since 7th Jan 2010 the Big Tv plans have changed
d. Your connection will work in 2 hours
e. Your connection will work in 1 hour
f. Your connection will start working in 15 minutes
g. All new customers are facing connection problems
8. The worst response I got was that the customer services agent who attended to my call said “ I know only Malayalam” and cut the call. I am not sure if these agents are trained on how to speak to customer or how to attend to a customer issue. There has been 3 instances of my call being disconnected abruptly, in an absolutely un-courtous manner at the call center.

big tv big loss for viewers now because a local network will give you 70 channels for viewing whereas bigtv gives you 110 channels for 300 or 350 ich will not be viewed by local people, for example telugu people will not see tamil channels whereas it will be shown in bigtv which is ridiculous and at the same time collecting more money than cable operators.you
can transmit relay all channels of india for the above amount including pay channels,but it will not since every one wants money.If bigtv wants morey more dish tv connections they should take the steps as by the tata docomo typeduly relaying all channels of india for a monthly payment 0f 150to 200 only,then you will see bigtv in every house.

Worst customer service. Since yesterday I have called around 20 times wasted around 3 hours waiting or talking to customer service for upgrade of channel package on BigTV and excuse after excuse, system is slow, system is not working, getting some server error, getting failure message from the customer service executive. End of it nothing done. I had Tata Sky for 3 years and they had top notch customer service online and on phone. BigTV for last 4 months have been a suffering. After bad service experience with Reliance Communication phones this is another bad service from Reliance ADAG. It is high time they spend time and energies on customer service.

The WORST experirnce I have faced ever. Their Help lines take hours to get someone on line. The dealer who has installed gave false promises and put the connection and all his numbers are NOT contactable.
Though I've lodged a comlaint a week back .. NOTHING has happened. Everyone seems to have disappeared leaving me helpless.

As a BIGTV customer, I share my experience
with you regarding their customer service.
I have lodged a complaint with customercare centre on 23.5.2010 @ 12.05Hrs regarding non-functioning of STB. I have received calls from local service engineer around 17.00Hrs on 23.5.2010 and around 10.15Hrs on 24.5.2010 saying that the problem will be attended by the evening of 24.5.2010. I am waiting for the arrival of the service engineer till today i.e. 25.5.2010

Its really a cruel joke if uou purchase reliance BIG TV, they are looters. My smart card number is 200533519514 in the name of Mr Rakesh Jha, Complaint Number is 131249810 & 131510615, these are recently lodged complaint number, since June'10 my TV is shut down due to Poor connection, whenever we called in customer care they say we can not see your details due to technical problem, server is down (you can check , i called on 7th, 8th & 9th July'10), I lodged complaint but they send executive & deduct Rs 175 on 14th June'10 but problem not solved & money deducted again we recharged the coupon of Rs 400 on 16th june'10, on 17th june'10 again we lodged complaint , they send executive but not solved the problem (Rs 175 again deducted) executive told me that problem in Set topBox , if you change the set toop box fromn me it will cost of Rs 400 otherwise 800 if go with Reliance, it was really a height of frustration, since june'10 mu TV is shut down, now when i called on 10th july in customer care they told me to recahrge again then only your money shall be refunded, it is the nothing but lloting of xustomers.....

dear sir,

i purchased big tv connection kit no. SHYSTC000469704 and smart card No. 200531558087 on 29.03.10. the same was installed on the first week of april,10 by their staff having contact No. 9540754969.

ever since the dish was installed, the same is having problem, in fact it was not properly installed since one of its anchoring point was not fastened properly and drilled hole was loose, when i asked them to anchore the same properly by drilling another whole to fasten the nut, i was advised that the same was not a problem and shall be attended as and when required later too.

since the very begenning it has ben problamatic and i complained about the same in the month of april itself which is also a matter of their record, the attending tech again not drilled other whole and fastened nut in same hole. now the problem of bad signal has became more frequent as such the loose hole has become more loose thus dish often get dis-oriented with a little velocity of wind.

i complained the same on 20.07.10 vide complaint No. 132374169, on 21.07.10 at 6 PM the visiting tech Mr. Amit Contact No. 9540387065, despite of being explained the problem, instead oof attending the same changed set top box which did not have any problem at all and replaced the same with an old one. i may point out that i never copmlaint about any problem in set top box. on being asked to tighten the loose nut by driling another hole, he denied on the ground that i need to pay for the same. on being confronted that neither the premises nor the locality is changed even all the three holes are not to be done afresh, only the one other hole needs to be drilled a little apart from the older loose one, he did not conceded.

i complained against the illegal demand of the same on 21.07.10 vide complaint No. 132470892 and demande immidiate proper installation of dish. but the two days have been passed but the same has not been ressolved.

being a consumer my concerns are that if i needed to pay the charges for same in next visit why the same was not properly installed instantly. therefore, i again registered another complaint vide Mon, 26 July, 2010 8:00:10 PM 'ADAG=006-415-60 and demand a senior executive of big tv other than so called Sh. Amit to visit my home to check the way the dish was installed instantly and the way complaint were attended later, so that the my concerns are attended. i also demand techanical examination report of my old set top box removed by Mr.Amit arbitrarily without moy consen but alas the cheaters are laughing no body of BIGGGGGG TV has turned up since then........

After reading some best experiences with BIG TV,i like to share my one also, i called customer care and asked to reinstall BIG TV as i shifted to new place, they asked to pay rs 350 for changing the address and additional rs 350 for reinstallation,
i didn't understand that why they are charging rs 350 for simply updating my address, so i asked them for to forward me an email with the payable amount from their official email id and surprisingly after few moments back, customer care told me that previous information was wrong and they charge only rs 350 for installaion,so please whoever is shifting to new place pls take of reinstallation charges.

Do not go very high on your partnership plans!! Try to concentrate on what you have in hand. I'm an end user of reliance big-tv and my connection is dead for the past 96 hours.
The entire field operation(s) run by you are full of fraud. I complained thrice, and the registered complain was closed, without even attending the issue. Customer support says they visited my home and corrected the problem!! What a shame.
I repent the day I purchased a reliance big tv connection.

Got Big TV full Hd 5490 offer installed 13th June2011. Since Day 1 signal is improper , leads to Blinking of TV every few minutes and HD channels not coming. Trying 01243272180/181 Service centre but no response. Taken up with local Dealer who is persuing with Marketing people for last four days but no result. Whether Set top box is problem or Cord from this box to TV, techinicians not able to determine, says there are problem in HD connections. Each one gives the number of Other Service person for follow up first for Set Top Box then for cord, God knows who is right but end result is after spending money on HD not been able to watch normally also.

This is much distress that we are posting this complaint.......we are the customer of your big tv service for past 10 months.Our account number is 200846784363 in the user name PUSHPAKUMMARIAMMA.We are facing problem of bad service and poor signal quality for past one month.There are ocasssions where we dont get the service for 1 week continuously.The service providers here are also not attending even we register complaints.The much sad story which made me to post this complaint is that your service provider who came to attend our complaint was so rude in his behaviour and was pretending as if the whole problem is on our side.He was not listening to what we wanted to say.....this is much bitter part of your customer service. We dont expect this from your big tv service.........the service provider who attended was Mr. NASSER ,MOBILE NUMBER 9387084007.....Please atleast tell him to learn how to behave towards customers..........such customer service providers are a shame for your comminication system........Hope you will take necessary action.

in all the distress from this satellite service...iam posting this as a complaint ...after making various complaints on the customer service...there is no proper action taken by them...on of the person frm the company told that the service person will come to fix the problem...but he didnt turn up...as we wasted the whole day waiting for him...it happened twice...so plz its request either send sm1 to fix the problem..or remove your instrument from our place.

I am Gerard Rodrigues from Hyderabad. I had booked two connections in my Apartments. My Apt. details Manasa Apartments, Beside Bharath Gas, Domalguda, Hyderabad 500029. One Dish got connected and the other is still pending, Its almost 3 weeks since we have booked. I am really sick of calling you Guys, I think now I must go to the Consumer Court and lodge a complaint. If I do not get response in one hour, its going to happen. Mind you, I am going to put it in the News papers also....

Big tv Ranchi zone service is very poor. i complained on 23.10.2011 for sifting but no response they were taking till date. every two days they canceled my complained and registered new complain. I am really fed up to take this connection (my complained no is 164355523 on 23.10, 164843011 on 31.10.11 and 165159907 on 5.11.11. every day the senior person giving me promise but no one can com to my place and no one can call me. So I have very bad experince.

my smart card no. is 200543267277i have been using bigtv for the past 3 years .i have shifted my home on february 2011,that time a person named rajeshwari from your dealers point came for recovery of setup box to my new address.to her i have gave 2100rs for one year recharge +sports pack but till now she has recharged.i had complaint lot of time in your customer care service nobody taking care of this. but today a person named tamilvannan telling that bigtv will not responsible for dealers mistake they will take action against dealer but the amount will not refund to you. sir what is profit for u taking action without giving no refund amount.if it is ur people could have said to me 6 months itself that we will not refund money.pls help me.

I have shifted my present place i.e. Patna to Pratapgarh after getting generated the work order from Getting Started Kit (GSK). Now, when I am requesting to install the DTH Connection which was not installed at Patna, the representives(Toll Free no) are just giving one reason or the other and installation has not been done in last -4- days.

I am not able to understand, what is the problem in cancelling the present work order and generation of a new work order for new place. The Customer Care numbers are just useless and no body is ready to cancel the earlier work order on their toll free no. 1800-200-9003. They are telling to get it cancelled from 1800-200-9001 or 1800-200-9002, but these numbers are either for existing customers (who already has smart card number or for registering a new connection) but no option for cancelling the earlier work order. Lot of time is spent to chase the customer care.

May I request Reliance Digital TV to look into the matter, so that the problem can be sorted out at the earliest.

sorry to say your big tv ivr is hope less...there is no option for HD DVR customers... when ever i call they are saying pls call the same number you will get the option... i called more than 9 times....

my big tv is not working for last 5 months... iam working in media (hope it must be in ur systems) for a person like me itself there is problem means (for general public i dont know)a person is saying its a problem of the dvr box (warnty got over)so i have to pay 3000 rs...i have paid 8000 plus one year fee (for that itself the box worked for 7 months only) noooo one to care about it and they believe there reps only....i know iam not going to get this solved...so iam going to make it has a issue to press....i have all papers with me for dvr not working for last 5 to 6 months...

My name is Mr.Mukundan. My smart card no.200719082641. As our remote is not working even after changing the batteries, we have complained to see the problem.the customer service people said that they will send some technician to see the problem. suppose if there is any problem and they repaired, then they charge Rs.175, but if the remote itself is not good then they will charge Rs.220 for new remote.yesterday on11-04-12 evening one technician named Shyam came from customer service, he realised some item was kept in front of the sensor, that is why the remote is not working, so the remote is good only. he brought one new remote that looks like old. we told there is no need of replacing the remote as our own remote is working. volume quality is not good which i already complained to customer care. that technician not bothered about what we are complaining, he left without attending and without telling us, we are trying to call customer servince tollfree number still. then next day morning, suddenly our tv connection is stopped abruptly. when we asked cutomer care centre, one attender named Mr.Ashok replied that your account is suspended as a charge of replacing new remote Rs.225. we told that remote is not replaced why you have charged and abruptly suspended out tv services.so kindly do the needful in this matter and please refund our amount.

Horrible and frustrating experience with Reliance Big TV:

Reliance presently has the worst customer care department.
They are reluctant to provide correct and finite answers and not even addressing a month old issue of set-up-box failure.
Their technical department neither make any call to understand the issue or visit the site and just close the issue/ticket raised.

Number:130053 which was encashed on 16th of May by APPCO Marketing Pvt
Ltd through my bank.

Your executie has confirmed me that the set up would be done in the
next 7 days that is by 21st/22nd the entire process will be completed.

I have been trying to reach your executive and there is no response
and is switched off till date.

I tried to reach his manager on 9966363329 and he has been saying that
he will get it done today/tomorrow and now he says that reliance
people will get in touch with me.

But till date nothing has happenned and i dont have any confirmation
on when this is going to be set up.

This is absolutely recklessness on your side especially with a Brand
like reliance,this is the least that the customer can ever expect
anything like this.

Hope you would act now atleast and do the needful immediately.

I have no different story than the above cited troubled customers with other cited problems.
I had taken this DTH service after the Big tv guys have chased me to my house repeatedly. Well after a lot of thought that we decided to zero down on Big tv , which on receipt of the money was quickly installed. But the real turmoil started after taking it. Whenever u call to complain they have delayed response system which allows them to act only after 48 hrs. I have never seen such lazy customer service. Not only that for a problem such as mine whereby there is no reception the set top box has stopped responding with no visual or audio output, it had to be dealt by an engineer which is going to be a paid visit of 175/- which is by far too high as compared to their competitors. Since I refused to give any such such service charge for something that i have used hardly for 6months and have faced innumerable troubles during this period that they had the audacity to threaten me that they would pick my box and we can do nothing about it. To top it all I have just recharged my account of 320 just 5days ago , even that money seems to me as gone.I m surprised that such billionaires as Mr. Anil Ambani has resorted to such gunda tactics (citing after making payment towards all the equipments that they still remain the property of reliance and can be taken back with no refund). This was not what we were told at the time of installation.
Attached is the reckless reply by a customer service executive of reliance which states the high handedness of such companies who think themselves God before the customer.

"Dear Mr. Kadam,

Thank you for writing to us.

Please note that service charges of Rs.175/- will be applicable if no parts replaced or repaired. If part/ equipments replaced or repaired then applicable charges will be levied.

Further, as you are not ready to pay the charges we are unable to register the complaint regarding the same.

Hence, we request you to confirm the same and write to us for Engineer visit request.

As per our company policy there is no refund provided to the customer on surrender of connection.

Please note that the equipment's provided at the time of installation, such as Dish antenna/STB box/ Cables/ remote are a property of Reliance. You will need to return all these equipment's to our executive after your cancellation is processed.

I launched a complaint on 9th july2012 to call a technician...no technician has reached at my place yet.....no calls from technician....whenever i call in ur customer care they say its preocessing.....can u tell me how much more do i need to wait to get my issue resolved....coz tis olready 15 days since i've complained...now i want refund and want you to take your dish back...i m totally dissatisfied with your customer support.

I called 1800 200 9001 toll free number times and again. On 28th August 2012,when called there was some shut down problem.

Today I hv called 10 times & everytime same tape I had to listen that it is busy and call after some time, nobody is lifting. we cannot practically view TV. Will anybody attend why there is smart card pairing error.

My new Reliance connection was installed almost 1 year back (Card No. 200901764566). Right from day one, it is giving the problem of difficulty to change channels. This was conveyed to your persons since that day, but there is no response.

I had logged a complaint on your toll-free no a few months back. Then I got a call from your people assuring that your engineer will visit and solve the problem and My complaint was closed. But no one visited.

I logged a complaint again on 27/08/2012 (Complaint no. 185944139). No one has attended till Date, however I got an SMS that My complaint has been closed !!! There is no response when I call your toll-free no.or your local representatives at Swaroopganj, or at Jodhpur.

This is a very bad state of affairs and your reputation is taking a big hit in the entire area.

Why is Reliance BIG TV not able to attend to a complaint that is persisting till 11 months from Installation date, in the Warranty period?

It goes without saying that this complaint will be valid even after expiry of warranty.

I hope you will take urgent steps to solve the problem, under intimation, and create a congenial and satisfactory situation.

It will take more than 5 mnts. to answer by customer service and officers. But even after wait of 15 mnts, same recorded msg. I want to change the plan.
